Where to base yourself
- Victoria Island and IkoyiThe main base for visitors, with hotels, restaurants, banks and short hops to museums and galleries. The easiest first choice.
- Lagos Island (Marina and Balogun)The historic core, with Balogun Market, Tafawa Balewa Square and colonial-era streets. Busy by day and best visited with a plan.
- LekkiNewer sprawl to the east with beach clubs, malls and more space. Choose it for beaches and nightlife, accepting longer drives.
- Yaba and the mainlandUniversities, creative studios and street food at a more local rhythm. Give it a full afternoon if food and culture are the point of the trip.
